Anthony Huete-Jacobs Candidate for Council · 2026 Election

Anthony Huete-Jacobs

Candidate for Council Aamjiwnaang First Nation

Boozhoo / Meet Anthony

Aanii, I’m Anthony Huete-Jacobs.

I was born in Sarnia, Ontario, and Aamjiwnaang has always been my community. Some of my earliest memories are of spending time here with my family, visiting my grandmother Audrey Jacobs, swimming, riding down Tashmoo, visiting Uncle Turtle and Auntie Wanda, and taking part in community and youth activities.

As I got older, I began taking on leadership roles of my own. I served as Chair of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation Youth Council for approximately three years, as a Director on the Board of Chippewa Industrial Developments Limited (CIDL), and have been involved with the Education and Governance Committees. These experiences have given me the opportunity to learn about youth leadership, governance, economic development and community decision-making.

I have also worked in the federal government, including on clean-energy programs involving Indigenous communities, and I am currently studying Computer Programming and Analysis at George Brown College. I have also taken the step into entrepreneurship by starting my own technology business, which has given me experience building an organization from the ground up and developing new ideas. Through my community, professional and educational experiences, I continue to learn, listen and look for practical ways to contribute to Aamjiwnaang.

Community-rooted

Aamjiwnaang is home. I want members to get to know me, my experience, and the values I would bring to Council.

Prepared to serve

My path has included youth leadership, board work, community security, public-sector experience, entrepreneurship, and technology.

Open to listening

Throughout the campaign, I want to hear from members about concerns, ideas, and the issues they believe Council should focus on.
