Priorities
Five priorities for a stronger Aamjiwnaang.
Focused on the issues affecting our community today while planning for the generations ahead.
Priority 01
Health, Environment & Community Safety
Protecting the health of our people, land, and future generations.
Anthony supports strong environmental monitoring and accountability, clear communication during environmental incidents and emergencies, and ensuring Aamjiwnaang has a meaningful voice in developments that affect the community and territory. He also supports responsible opportunities in clean energy and economic development that do not compromise community health and safety.
Priority 02
Youth, Education & Community Well-Being
Creating opportunities for every generation.
Anthony’s experience with the Aamjiwnaang First Nation Youth Council shaped his belief that young people should be connected to education, employment, leadership, and community decision-making. He also believes strong communities support families, Elders, culture, recreation, and connections between generations.
Priority 03
Housing & Infrastructure
Planning for the needs of our community today and tomorrow.
Anthony supports continued housing development, long-term planning for future housing needs, clear and understandable housing processes, and maintaining the infrastructure our community depends on. He also wants community construction and infrastructure projects to create training and employment opportunities for Aamjiwnaang members wherever possible.
Priority 04
Jobs, Skills & Economic Opportunity
Making development create meaningful opportunities for members.
Anthony supports employment, training, apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, and opportunities for Aamjiwnaang-owned businesses. He believes economic development should strengthen the Nation’s long-term capacity while producing meaningful opportunities and benefits for members.
Priority 05
Governance, Accountability & Member Voice
Listening, communicating, and strengthening how we govern ourselves.
Anthony believes members should be informed, heard, and meaningfully involved in major decisions. He wants to support the continued development of Aamjiwnaang’s own laws, policies, and governance processes while encouraging clear communication, accountability, and follow-through from Council. He also supports clear and understandable law-making processes and regular communication with members wherever confidentiality requirements allow.
