My experience has taken me through community leadership, governance, public service, entrepreneurship and education. Each of these opportunities has given me different perspectives and practical experience that I continue to build on.
01 / Community leadership
Getting involved at home
Chair · Approximately 3 years
Aamjiwnaang First Nation Youth Council
Through the Youth Council, I helped organize community activities, including a round dance, invited speakers, and developed clothing and outreach materials to encourage greater youth participation.
I gained experience taking part in meetings, working through motions and making decisions together. I also attended gatherings through the Youth Council, including the Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Assembly in 2023.

Serving on the CIDL Board gave me experience with board governance, oversight and organizational decision-making. I took part in discussions about economic development, planning and Aamjiwnaang’s industrial park and economic future.
Education Committee
My involvement provided additional exposure to education matters, community discussion and decision-making.
Governance Committee
I gained experience with community governance discussions, preparation, careful listening and follow-through.
Community security
I also worked in community security for a period of time, gaining another perspective on responsibility, safety and being attentive and respectful around community members.
02 / Public service
Working within government
Receiving a certificate with Indigenous Clean Energy.
Natural Resources Canada · 2021–2024
Supporting Indigenous clean-energy initiatives
I supported federal clean-energy programming involving Indigenous communities, including work connected to the Indigenous Off-Diesel Initiative and BioHeat.
My work included keeping project information up to date, tracking progress, supporting reporting and coordination, and helping with the administration of funding agreements and procurement. These programs supported Indigenous, rural and remote communities pursuing cleaner-energy projects.
This gave me practical experience with how government programs operate and the administrative work behind delivering projects.

03 / Entrepreneurship
Turning ideas into practical work
Starting and building a technology business
Starting MiigTech Solutions Inc. has given me experience taking an idea into real projects: business planning, building technology, developing pitches, and working with organizations and potential partners.
Through entrepreneurship programs and competitions, I have learned about intellectual property and business development, and practised explaining technical ideas to people without a technology background.
My work has included exploring technology and digital systems for Indigenous communities and organizations.
Pow Wow Pitch · 2026 Semi-Finalist
I was selected as a Semi-Finalist and presented my business during the 2026 competition.

Learning About Responsible AI
In 2026, I was selected for Mila’s Indigenous Pathfinders in AI program, where I learned about artificial intelligence, responsible AI and the opportunities and concerns it can create for Indigenous communities.
The experience helped me better understand the technology and the importance of considering Indigenous values, interests and community needs.
